Cushty Co Wax Review

Firstly, a warm and waxy thank you to the fabulous Laura for sending me this adorable trio of wax samples to review.

All of Cushty Co’s scents are available to buy in these sample sized bars, which are approximately 16g of waxy cuteness. They are an absolutely perfect way to try out lots of different scents without breaking the bank!

Ok, so onto the smelly bit…..

Pink Peony

“Romantic, powdery, fresh floral scent”

This was such a stunning scent. It smelt just like a soft, musky and freshly floral perfume. It really was as described – romantic, powdery and feminine. Once these little cubes had fully melted the scent filled the room just perfectly and the scent managed to be strong without overpowering.

Dance of the Dragons

“Warm woody earthy scent. Top notes of amber, vanilla and sandalwood, middle notes of powdery musks and base notes of asian florals”

Think of walking into a New Age type shop complete with inscense burning and thats exactly what this scent reminds me of. Warm, woodsy and musky sweet. I could really pick up on the rich amber and the soft woodsy smell of the sandalwood and the powdery musk middle notes. It was such a beautifully calming scent and whilst I would say this scent was more soft and subtle it still managed to fill the room fabulously.

Pumpkin Spice Latte

“Sweet pumpkin pie blended with espresso and topped with a touch of cinnamon, brown sugar and freshly whipped cream”

Wowsers this was uber uber strong! I had this melting in my Kitchen warmer and it literally filled the whole of downstairs! It smelt absolutely delicious too. The espresso coffee and brown sugar notes really dominated and the sweet pumpkin pie gave the scent a gorgeous bakery type undertone. The freshly whipped cream element took the bitterness away from the coffee scent and rounded the scent off perfectly. It made me think of drinking a yummy strong and sweet pumpkin latte and the whole of downstairs smelt like a coffee shop. This is an absolutely perfect Autumn scent – rich, spicy, warming and strong, but with a sweet and creamy bakery undertone. A definate must for the coffee scent lovers out there.

Such a gorgeous trio of beautifully smelling scents, that came adorably packaged and really packed a punch with their scent throw. Don’t be fooled by their size!

🎃 🕸 👻 Pretty Little Wax Halloween Mystery Box Reveal 👻 🕸 🎃

Oh yes, it’s that time of year again! Cue lots of beautiful Halloween inspired wax!

Of course, I had to bag myself a Pretty Little Wax Halloween Mystery Box again this year! Last years was absolutely fabulous, so I had high hopes again for this years and I was certainly not disappointed!

From the Halloween inspired scents and wax shapes, to the beautiful packaging, the attention to detail was just stunning. So, of course, I had to do an unboxing blog and show you each melt in all its gorgeously ghoulish glory!

There were 10 scents in total and here they all are….

 

HANNIBAL, THE SWEET TOOTH CANNIBAL

JELLY BEAN – A burst of luscious fruity tones teasing the senses! Wild cherry balances with ripe peach and tangy strawberry for the candy sensation at the fragrance heart.

SOUR WATERMELON – The aroma of sweet and sour mandarin oranges, pineapples and wild watermelon.

 

FRIDAY NIGHT, CANDY BITE

RASPBERRY LEMONADE – A mouth-watering combination of ice cold lemonade, sweet juicy raspberries with a unique twist of lavender and white musk.

RAINBOW SHERBET – The gorgeous aroma of fresh lime, pineapple, orange and raspberry with creamy base notes of vanilla.

 

GOTHIC GLAM

BLACK LINEN AND AMBER – Unique and very sexy! Beginning with top notes of fresh cotton and crisp ozonic tones, followed by middle notes of white blosdom and base notes of cashmere, amber and musk.

 

GHOULS JUST WANNA HAVE FUN! 

PINK SUGAR – A fruity blend of cotton candy, lemon drops, caramel and raspberry jam on a dry down of musk.

FAIRY DUST – A rich fruity floral signature balances night blooming jasmine with fresh cassis, while hints of ozone create a shimmering effect.

 

CHILDREN OF THE CANDY CORN

CANDY CORN – A warm vanilla candy with top notes of butter with a slight down of almond.

 

THE DEVIL SCENT ME!

FROSTED PUMPKIN – Beginning with top notes of citrusy lemon, leading to middle notes of creamy pumpkin and hints of nutmeg and ginger, sitting on base notes of maple sugar and vanilla frosting.

CINNAMON DOUGHNUT – The rich aroma of fresh crushed cinnamon bark with base notes of baked notes of yellow cake with creamy buttery undertones.

 

A CACKLE IN THE CAULDRON

CHOCOLATE ORCHID – Reminiscent of true chocolate orchids, which smell like a fresh floral with undertones of chocolate! 

 

HALLOWEEN HOWLERS

OPIUM – Reminiscent of a popular ladies perfume.

 

31ST SPOOK STREET

BLACK LICORICE – Strong and true to its name.

PINA COLADA – A tropical combination of sweet pineapple and coconut.

 

THE EXORCISM OF GRANNY SMITH

FLUFFY PINK CANDY – A blend of juicy bubblegum, cotton candy, juicy apples and pear blended together with sugared candy lemon drops.

GREEN APPLE EXPLOSION – A massive, in your face Apple blast, fizzy and zingy!

🦄 The Wee Wax Unicorn Wax Review, Part One 🦄

Firstly, a huge warm and waxy thank you to the lovely peeps at The Wee Wax Unicorn for sending me a beautiful parcel of their waxy goodness to review.

Ill be spliting my blog review into two parts, so be sure to keep your eyes peeled for Part Two.

The wax melts came beautifully packaged and I love the fact that each melt was also labelled with it’s very own “Date of Birth” so you know when it was poured/made.

Ok, lets get to the fabulously smelly bit….

Pina Colada Chill Pill

“White Maurition rum, coconut and fresh pineapple. A tropical sun soaked afternoon in a hammock swinging above yellow sand”

Only half of this “Chill Pill” was enough to fill the whole room with its fabulously tropical yumminess!! I could really pick up on the delicious fruity pineapple and creamy coconut with a cheeky splash of white rum. I felt like this should have come served in a glass, with a straw and little umbrella. It totally made me think of warm, tropical beaches on this cold November day!

Unicorn Poop

“Pink candyfloss, ice cream and strawberry syrup. The unicorns top all that with even more sugar”

Pink, fluffy and sugary….just like pink candyfloss, this was light and sugary sweet. I only used half of the “poop” in my kitchen warmer and it smelt dee-lish! Who new Unicorn Bums were so fragrant!!

Picnic on Leith Links

“Grounding patchouli levelled out by damp with rain daisy and earthy grass notes. To sweeten, there are added vanilla notes”

I loved the whole fantastical look of this melt….I felt like it should be on the end of a chain! Very “Game of Thrones!” It smelt beautifully earthy and musky with a naturally sweet undertone. The scent filled the room fabulously without overpowering and if you like your earthy patchouli scents, then this is definately one for you!

The Kirkgate Hippie

“Medative incense of a Hindu Temple. Smouldering sandalwood, sweet vanilla and nutmeg create a woody, earthy bliss”

I absolutely love Sandalwood and vanilla scent combos and this one felt just perfect to melt on a cold wintery day. It was beautifully soothing and comforting. I thought there was a subtle clean masculine type tone to it, aswel as a woodsy earthiness with a sweetness and warming spice.

Im super impressed with these melts. Not only were they beautifully made, but they smelt absolutely fabulous too.

Pipers Patch Wax Melt Review

Ok, so onto the smelly bit….

Mermaid Kisses

“This fragrance begins with top notes of ocean mist, sea moss and dewy cyclamen petals; followed by middle notes of geranium flower, water mint and corriander seed; sitting an base notes of white cedar wood and earthy vetiver”

This scent smelt gorgeous! Fresh, cooling and breezy. Think sand, sea, ocean waves and cooling sea air! How pretty does this melt look aswel by the way?? The colours were just fabulous and suited the name and scent description perfectly!

Georgia Sunrise

“A refreshing combination of fresh peaches and ripened raspberries, with a dry down of vanilla”

Another gorgeous scent! A perfectly juicy and fruity medley with a beautifully creamy, sweet vanilla undertone. I could really pick up on the yummy fruity peach and tart raspberry. The vanilla mellowed out the fruitiness and gave it a sweet softness. I loved the vivid peach inspired colours too.

Huckleberry Harvest

“This fragrance is a bouquet reminiscent of blueberry with raspberry, grape, strawberry and peach top notes with a sweet background”

How adorable is that name?? It immediately made me think of sweet Autumn fruits. It was a fabulously fruity, yet mellow medley with a deliciously sweet undertone.

Black Raspberry and Vanilla Zinger

“This wonderful creative scent begins with sweet raspberry and toasted coconut, middle notes of buttercream frosting and bottom notes of freshly baked yellow sponge cake”

I absolutely love Bakery type scents and this particular scent smelt mouthwateringly dee-lish!! I could really pick up on the sweet raspberry and creamy coconut, with a sweet vanilla buttercream frosting and sugary undertone. Absolutely yummy!

These melts were beautifully made, with fabulous attention to detail, the wax box really did come beautifully presented. They not only smelt yummy, but they were long lasting and the scent throw was fab too.

Teri’s Tealights and Melts Halloween Mystery Box Review 🎃 👻 🕸

The Halloween Melts came packaged in an adorable Pumpkin treat bucket, all wrapped up in green spider web and finished and wrapped up with green ribbon and a warning banner! It looked spookily fabulous!

Here’s my review on four of the fabby melts included….

Pumpkin Apple Butter

“This fragrance will put you in the mood for the holidays, with top notes of orange, apple, pear, pineapple and cherries. Middle notes of pumpkin, cinnamon, nutmeg and clove, with base notes of warm vanilla”

This fella was cute, huge and chunky…I only needed to pop a quarter in my warmer. I could really pick up on the fruity tones, especially the apple and pear. The Pumpkin and vanilla gave the scent a creaminess, whilst the cinnamon and nutmeg added a beautifully warming spiciness to the mix. A truly delicious and warming scent.

Candy Corn

“Warm vanilla candy with top notes of butter with a slight almond down”

Ok, this melt was just absolutely adorable! I loved the Halloween inspired colours and I especially loved the cute little haunted house “topper”

It smelt yummy too! I could really pick up on the vanilla candy tone and the butter and it really reminded me of the smell of freshly made, warm butter popcorn! Dee-lish!

Trick or Treat

“Begins with top notes of pumpkin, persimmon and apple. Middle notes of blueberries, elderberries, currants, orange and cinnamon with well rounded notes of sugar cane and vanilla”

This coffin shaped melt was simply HUGE and really was a “Treat” for the nose!! It smelt fabulously fruity and sweet with a warming spicy cinnamon undertone. A beautiful and cosy Autumnal and Winter scent that was almost bakery-like!

Cool Slime

“A clean, fresh and super strong lime fragrance”

This cute little skull shaped melt smelt EXACTLY as described; a beautifully strong, clean and fresh citrus Lime scent. Don’t be fooled by the size of this little fella, he really packed a punch! The scent throw was just fabulous and filled the Kitchen with absolute ease!

I was super impressed with this Halloween inspired mystery wax box from the adorable and beautifully made Halloween shaped melts to the delicious and warming scents, that smelt absolutely gorgeous and are just perfect for Autumn and Winter melting.

The Halloween themed wax melts came wrapped up in an adorable and spooky pumpkin bag complete with cobwebs, spiders, Halloween confetti and sweeties!!

Now onto the review of four of the melts included…

Sweet Sinister Spells

“This explosive blend of the sweet jammin’ berry trio of juicy ripe cherries, strawberries and raspberries in harmony with hints of tangy citrus and brought together by icy peppermint and sugary hard rock candy”

This smelt absolutely dee-lish!! Contrary to its name there was nothing sinister about this scent and it really was an explosion of yummy fruity and sugary sweetness. A beautiful juicy mixed berry scent with a twist of cool peppermint and sugary candy. The brittle looked gorgeous too and the colours candy-like.

Berry Bewitching

“This fragrance is a spooky, bubbly halloween treat. Berry Bewitching begins with top notes of peach, apricot and blackberries; middle notes of mandarin, cinnamon and rose and balanced with just a hint of woodsy musk”

This was a fabulously fruity mixed berry scent with a woodsy and musky undertone. The cinnamon was really subtle, put added a little belly warming spice to the scent and it just reminded me of a yummy fruity punch drink….the kind you would get at Halloween party, complete with plastic floating eyeballs and severed fingers!! 😉

Coffin Candy

“A fabulous aroma of freshly spun cotton candy blended with fresh strawberry and French vanilla”

Light, fluffy and sugary sweet with a juicy strawberry and vanilla undertone. The vanilla mellowed out the sugary sweetness and stopped the scent from being overly sweet and added a delicious creaminess to the mix. I loved the colour of the melt too, which suited this yummy scent perfectly.

Goblin Ate A Grape

“Go gaga for the goblin who ate a grape! This fragrance is a ripe juicy grape candy. Top notes of juicy grape and sweet strawberry. Middle notes of peach, raspberry and pineapple and finished off with base notes of violet candy, orange flower and grape jam”

A beautifully rich and deep scent, with lots of fruity notes and a yummy sugary candy sweet undertone. I could really pick up on the grape and strawberry, and even the peach and raspberry. The pineapple added a subtle citrusy note to the scent, whilst the violet candy and grape jam gave the scent a sugary sweet and almost syrupy tone. Dee-lish!!

I was so impressed with this Halloween Mystery Box, which was filled with lots of fabulous smelling, long lasting and beautifully made Halloween themed melts.

Teri’s Tealights and Melts Halloween Mystery Box Unboxing 👻 🕸 🎃

My third and final Halloween Mystery Box is from Teri’s Tealights and Melts.

I absolutely loved how the Halloween Melts came packaged…in an adorable Pumpkin Treat Bucket, all wrapped up in green spider web and finshed and wrapped up with green ribbon and a warning banner! It looked spookily fabulous!

🎃 👻 🕸 Effy’s Wax Melts Halloween Mystery Box, Part Two 🕸 👻 🎃

It was crammed with Halloween and Autumn inspired melts in all different scents, shapes and sizes! It came adorably packaged in spiders webs and Halloween tissue and confetti, with each melt individually wrapped in its own Halloween packaging.

Now onto to the spooky review of some of the melts included…

Twilight Woods

“An ethereal woody fragrance with sweet fruit and berry notes on a bed of soft powdery musk”

This ghostie shaped melt was simply HUGE!! The scent was woodsy with a mellow fruity sweet undertone. There was a subtle clean and fresh tone to it aswel, that kind of reminded me of a yummy fresh and fruity smelling shampoo!

Liquorice

“A rich syrupy sweet black liquorice fragrance”

This smelt so true to life and exactly as described…..straight up Liquorice! Yummy!

Witching Hour

“A fun earthy Halloween blend of cinnamon bark, bergamot, cannabis flower, jasmine, rose, black tea, patchouli and musk”

This was a beautifully earthy, woodsy and musky scent with a hint of sweetness and spice. It had a masculine undertone and kind of reminded me of an expensive and musky aftershave. It was uber strong too and the scent throw was just fabulous!

Frosted Pumpkin

“This fragrance begins with top notes of citrusy lemon, leading to middle notes of creamy pumpkin and hints of nutmeg and ginger, ditting on base notes of maple sugar and vanilla frosting”

This melt was huge and very chunky and I only needed a quarter of it in my warmer. It smelt absolutely dee-lish! I could really pick up on the creamy pumpkin, with a hint of belly warming spice, syrupy sugar and a swirl of creamy vanilla. Yummy!!

I was super impressed with this Halloween Mystery Box, from the packaging and presentation to the absolutely fabulous smelling and adorable Halloween shaped melts.

🕸 👻 🎃 Pretty Little Wax Halloween Mystery Box Unboxing 🎃 👻 🕸

I first came across Pretty Little Wax at the begining of the year when I was trawling YouTube for new waxy inspiration and it was actually an unboxing video by Gemma Michelle on last years Pretty Little Wax Halloween Mystery Box that caught my attention.

I love watching unboxing videos….maybe because Im a tad nosey and I love to see what other wax addicts are buying!!

Anyway, check out the link at the end of this blog post for Gemmas unboxing video. It’s fab and definately worth a watch if you’re a waxy addict like me.

I was super excited to grab one of these Halloween Mystery Boxes and when I received it, it certainly didn’t disapoint! The wax melts came fabulously wrapped up a spooky pumpkin bag complete with cobwebs, spiders, Halloween confetti and of course….sweeties!!

Alien Princess

A magical fragrance that will make you feel like a princess of the universe. Notes of bright melon and sparkling manadrin are mixed with orange blossom, star jasmine and rose. A woody base is supplemented by vanilla and musk.

Berry Bewitching

This fragrance is a spooky, bubbly halloween treat. Berry Bewitching begins witn top notes of peach, apricot and blackberries; middle notes of mandarin, cinnamon and rose and balanced with just a hint of woodsy musk.

Menacing Mallow

This gorgeous fragrance will take you back to your childhood with the amazing aroma of marshmallows being toasted over a campfire.

Coffin Candy

A fabulous aroma of freshly spun cotton candy blended with fresh strawberry and French vanilla.

Goblin Ate A Grape

Go gaga for the goblin who ate a grape! This fragrance is a ripe juicy grape candy. Top notes of juicy grape, sweet strawberry. Middle notes of peach, raspberry and pineapple and finished off with base notes of violet candy, orange flower and grape jam.

Skull n Bones

Beginning with top notes of forest fresh green leaves and lemon zests, well rounded with fruity notes of peaches, apples and pineapples. A fresh fragrance that will entice and energise your day.

All the melts smells absolutely fab on cold sniff and I can’t wait to get melting them! Ill be reviewing some of these spooky and ghoulish fabby smelling melts in a seperate blog post…so watch this space!!!

Mollys Candles Wax Melt Review

Firstly, a big thank you to the lovely Paula from Mollys Candles for sending me some of her fabby wax melts to review. I was also sent a lovely collection of Christmas scents, which ill be reviewing after Halloween, so watch this space for those!

Made with soy wax, these 30g wax pots are currently at the bargain price of £1 per pot or 12 pots for £10 and there are a whopping 46 scents to choose from!

Baby Powder

A powdery and delicately soft floral fragrance with notes of fresh pink rose, lily and a suggestion of smooth, soothing vanilla.

The soothing classic scent of baby powder, this was softly sweet and floral. I had half of this melt in my living room and the other half in the hallway and it filled the spaces fabulously.

Fresh Linen

A fresh clean floral accord with sparkling citrus notes leading to a floral, herbal heart resting on a base of musks and woods.

This smelt fabulous…just like getting a big noseful of washed and dried laundry fresh from the washing line. The citrus note was just right and gave it a cool “fresh air” tone. Lovely!

Strawberry

A fresh, fruity fragrance of ripe wild strawberries blended with notes of fresh green leaf and a sweet juicy backnote.

Fabulously fruity, juicy and sweet, this scent actually reminded me of the smell of the Strawberry Lace sweeties. Absolutely yummy!
